Update #6 - Final area and end screen


After a long hiatus on this project, it is moving again. I hope people are still interested! :) Thanks for reading.

Additions

The last couple of weeks I have implemented a few things. First  up was a new, more dynamic way to generate the landscape. This was needed as restarting and cycling through the last area required these changes. It was the one thing holding me back when I last updated.

I also added area 3 and 4. This are the City level and the End Base level. These look great (I think) and are pretty difficult to fly through. I love it, my son hates it :)

The game over screen was re-designed and made more flexible. Entering names on the high score list is now dynamically displayed over the main screen. It looks lovely, especially with a nice subtle fade out of the main graphics behind it. Also, the attract mode was updated and made more easy to work with. This will allow me to add dynamic entries in the attract cycle.

Godot makes these things so easy. The new tweening system makes adding these nice subtle animations and fades really simple. It's really, really good.

Next Up

So, the game is feature complete. It plays like a real arcade game , I am happy.  Next up is polishing by adding some nice animations on the landscapes, and adding audio. Also, gamepad support!
